.:Strangers at First Sight; in Love Forever:.

Three years has passed since my last blog. Over the past three years, things have changed so much. It seems that things might change again. For the better, I hope.

I am now working in Seoul, Korea. The only reason why I am here is cos my fiancee is Korean. She is a fine, loving and caring lady. Truly blessed to have met her. She is everything that I have ever hoped for, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

These days, it seems that I may not be the one she wishes to be with. Painful as it seems, I have to just work hard and be there for her. That's the least I can do right now. I have so much to tell her, so much to do for and with her, but I know now, it is better not to rush. I am learning the hard and painful way. Glad to have my parents and dear friends during this terribly lonely period. Thank goodness for technology (MSN, Skype). Haha.

Recently, I met an old, dear friend online - Margaret. All the while, we have been able to confide in each other. This time round, it is even more meaningful, since she is also in a long-distance relationship. What I learnt from her was refreshing. It gave me new insight about myself. Having said that, I wish I was like her bf, from whom I shamelessly quote:

As long as I have the life to do so, I will try to give you a happy and comfortable. I believe that we will overcome this and create something wonderful in this life. Let's take things one step at a time.

영, I miss you.

"We learn through pain until we evolve to learn through joy."
- The teachings of Buddha

*My parents are gonna be official Buddhists soon, if there is such a title. I am very glad for them. Personally, they have always been a focal point in my life, and their love for each other has been an inspiration. No marriage is perfect, but they have weathered the storms and lived a blissful, married life for as long as I can remember. My frens used to jibe me for having such wonderful parents, and yet they have such a lousy son. How apt. Haha.

She visited me over the weekends. We had heaps of fun, meeting up with my frens and bringing her around. We are bonding together, day by day. Hopefully, we can last a lifetime. No alarms, no surprises. No pressure, no promises. Just hope. Just...

"There are people who laugh to show their fine teeth; and there are those who cry to show their good hearts."
- Joseph Roux

*Read my dear fren's blog today. Just learnt that she has been experiencing some rough patch over the past week. Hope she will cheer up a little after her dental tomorrow. The quote is dedicated to her. You know who you are.

It's the official start of spring today, and to all my teaching frens, Happie Teacher's Day oh! I just arrived back from SG this morning. Thanks to Jasper, Michelle and May for picking me up. Had quote a turbulent flight. Nonetheless, managed to watch The Italian Job. Highly recommended.

Had a blast at my frens' wedding. Special mention must be accredited to Andrina, the emcee. I cocked up with the emcee-ing, but she was there to wipe the pie off my face. Haha. Charming lady, too! After that, a few of us went out for a drink or two. Expensive, no doubt. But the atmosphere was electrifying. Maybe cos I was with my mates. We went to The Siam Supperclub and Coyote Ugly. The latter is nothing like Thailand, tho. So, dun place too high hopes. Haha.

Met my now ex-housemate, Win, before I came back. It was also nice to see Tze Wei and Claris. Am already missing my best mate, Ves, my granny and relatives, my parents...everybody! To a certain extent, I miss Andrina, too. For all her crap. Haha. As we agreed earlier, where there's a bitch, there is always a bastard. Haha. Work hard, girl. You rock!

"There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; the fun is in having lots to do and not doing it."
- Mary Wilson Little

*Heh. I've been damn lazy with the bLoG, as you would have noticed by now. Haha. Sometimes, I have a lot of things to say, but I am either in uni, or even in Sydney! Haha. Welcome to my world (smile).

Anyway, I will be going back to Singapore this coming Sunday. I am going back to attend a wedding; William's and Mandy's wedding. Pray for their blissful marriage. Having said that, I am looking forward to my kuay chup, chee cheong fun, char kuay teow...(slurp)

By the way, my housemate, Win has graduated and is going back home for good. Man, I wish him well. Cheers, mate!

"Education is not a preparation for life; Education is life itself."
- Elbert Hubbard

*A moment of inspiration emerged in, of all places, the bathroom. I was taking my shower, and I looked down at...the red/blue taps. It was then that I suddenly had a thought. A brief moment of inspiration.

Having relationships or friendships is like taking a shower. There is the red tap that symbolises red, hot passion. There is the blue tap that represent the blue, cold days in our lives. We balance both taps to attain the right temperature.

If you have a conflict, you turn cold. It is up to you how you wanna keep the warmth. You can choose to turn up the heat, but it will mean giving more, and taking longer. Furthermore, the cold is still there. It's just being overshadowed by the warmth, for now. Do you have such patience?

Alternatively, you can turn off the cold. It is faster, no doubt, but how many of us can do that? To forgive and forget? It's always best to balance both, but we can't always be that successful. Sometimes, we just have to accept that, after trying our best, there are still times when some things are beyond our control.

This is just beautiful. Heh..

"The hammer shatters glass but forges steel."
- Russian Proverb

*Looks like Chelsea has been forging steel lately, signing the likes of Joe Cole, Juan Sebastian Veron, Glen Johnson, Damien Duff, Geremi, and Wayne Bridge. Do they all translate to instant success? Only time will tell. Unleash the critics next week, as the new EPL season begins!

There is this new Singapore gal in my class. She's in my course for one semester, apparently on an exchange program. Just into the second week of lessons, and she is complaining about the huge gulf in standard between NUS and UQ. That's right. According to her, the standard in UQ is much, much higher. Surprise, surprise! Haha. Apparently, most of the material in NUS are spoon-fed to the students. No offence, mates. It wasn't me who said it. Whistle....

The weather looks kinda gloomy today. Can't wait for spring. Gonna tan and enjoy myself in this final semester at Brissie. I miss my kuay chup...

*Hmm...come to think of it, I've not played football at all for the whole of last semester. Slack. It's also partly due to the fact that I'm a weak player. Then again, it's also due to the notion that I can only play at left-back. Wot crap! I would prefer to play in the left midfield position, but who am I to disagree with the dominance of certain players in the squad. Oh no, not me..

First week of studies have just passed. Looks like this is gonna be quite a semester. Haha. Going for a trim in a while. My hair's in a mess, and my room, and my table, and my life...
